Whether it's for your home, farm or weekend getaway, clearing and crushing an acre or two makes a massive difference in your land's value and enjoyment.
Most fields we see have room to expand that just didn't seem feasible 50 years ago. We can make quick work of trees, stumps, and the leveling of those areas. Then a pass or two with our crusher and you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
If you have fields containing more rocks than you'd like, our rock crusher can be a god-send. Crushing rocks up to 20" in diameter and stabilizing the soil up to 10" of depth means more efficient planting and more productive harvests with less equipment damage.
We know how frustrating it can be to fight rocks and boulders when all you're trying to do is maintain a road that won't spill your coffee. It just doesn't make sense to bring in 6" of crush or road base for an entire road. We can tackle those paths with crushing and utilizing the material that's already there, and you can drink all the coffee you want.
Grape Vines like well draining soil and South-facing hill slopes....and many times that means rocks. We can provide a smooth finished slope with excellent planting media up to 10"+ deep. If your vines or orchard are already planted, we can stabilize and refinish your aisles and roads for efficient maintenance and travel around your farm. Or, if you're converting orchard lands into a vineyard, we can handle the clearing and land work from start to finish.
Due to so many variables in land size, topography and soil composition/rock type, we do charge by the hour.
However, we put a lot of time and effort into our written estimates so that we can give you a good idea of where costs will come in at. We provide a detailed report that works out the costs per hour and per acre.
We'll travel to your site, GPS-measure the land, dig test holes to ascertain the ground composition, and create a plan for the most efficient way to work the parcel.
On a per-acre basis, we've done jobs as low as $2500/ac for just ripping and crushing and they go up from there.
Factors affecting cost per-acre include:
- the distance that the equipment will be delivered
- the percentage of rock in the soil
- the size of the rock
- the size of the parcel to be developed
- the slope and shape of the parcel
- the required final product size
- do trees or stumps need to be removed.
- do rocks over 20" need to be removed
- does the land need to be leveled
Depending on the job size, it can be economically feasible for us to service most all of BC and Alberta.
We're located in Princeton, BC which is central to the BC Interior just 2 hrs to Chilliwack, 2hrs to Kamloops, 1.5 hours to Osoyoos and 2hrs to Kelowna.
